This blog highlights the newest developments in Power Apps. Some exciting features have been released, including field suggestions for Model-Driven app makers, Data workspace in nine additional languages, and enhanced ALM for virtual tables and Copilot Studio.
There are some great new features in Power Apps! Sharing your canvas apps has become even simpler. Plus, working with JSON-based data is now more efficient with updates to the ParseJSON() function. And to top it off, building user interfaces is faster than ever thanks to enhancements to the Copilot button inline action. Check out this month's Power Apps Pulse for all the details!
Power Apps now offers AI-powered column suggestions. When creating new Forms and Views, makers can use Copilot to generate suggested columns based on the Table columns, View name, or descriptions. This helpful feature eliminates the need to start from scratch, making the process of creating new Views, Quick Views, and Quick Create Forms more efficient.
The feature is available worldwide for English language users.
Use the power of AI to build your data models. Copilot lets you build data models from natural language, Excel files or SharePoint lists. Build comprehensive business solutions with multiple tables in ERD view, ready for deployment. Go beyond canvas applications and create model-driven applications on top of your business data. And now Data Workspace is available in 9 languages for global accessibility.
The Comment Generated Formulas feature is now generally available! This innovative tool allows you to create Power Fx formulas directly from natural language comments. Simply type "//" followed by your request in plain language, and the AI will generate the corresponding formula. This feature is now available in multiple languages, making it accessible to users worldwide. For new apps, it's automatically enabled, and for existing apps, you can easily turn it on in New Settings.
Previously, two settings were introduced to enable Copilot features by allowing data processing outside of the region, as some features are not available in all regions or languages. Now, tenant admins can manage these settings at scale using a new rule for environment groups. By configuring environment groups and publishing the "Generative AI settings" rule, admins can enable or disable cross-geo data movement and Bing search.
Virtual tables now support Application Lifecycle Management (ALM). This means developers can streamline the transition of virtual tables across Power Platform environments using environment variables. Environment variables allow developers to adjust connection references, such as SharePoint or SQL connections, as virtual tables move between environments. With this feature, you can add virtual tables to a solution, export it, and import it into other environments, simplifying deployment and management.
The Solution Explorer in Copilot Studio is now available in public preview, offering a range of features for managing copilots and their components. This includes the ability to transport and deploy copilots and components between environments, customize and extend existing copilots, and more.
